BBA in Finance
About the Program
The BBA in finance program prepares students for successful careers in corporate financial analysis, investments, financial institutions, and all positions of financial decision-making in both domestic and international settings. Students majoring in finance develop an understanding of financial data and valuation, financial services industry, global environment, and securities markets in the contexts of risk and return and decision making.
Curriculum
The BBA in Finance is a 120 semester-hour program. The program builds upon a business core curriculum which includes a basic finance class. Advanced classes include investments, financial institutions, global finance, and managerial finance (see Catalog for details).

About the Program
The Future Bankers Leadership Program at Texas Southern University prepares students with the knowledge, skills, and professional experience necessary to launch a successful career in banking industry. The Program comprises of three banking classes (9 credit hours), an intermediate accounting class (recommended) along with internship and professional engagement experience. Classes are conducted in a highly interactive manner with guest speakers from local businesses and banks.

The JHJ Investments Program should be of interest to all majors who wish to work in the securities or wealth management industry. The Program prepares students for the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam which is a certification for prospective securities industry professionals such as Investment Company representatives (Series 6) and Professional Wall Street Brokers (Series 7). The Program comprises of three investments classes (9 credit hours) which are conducted in a highly interactive manner with guest speakers from investments and financial services firms.
